Meet Dr. SChmutz
Dr. Jared Schmutz
Dr. Jared Schmutz has returned to his hometown to take over the dental practice his grandfather started 66 years ago and his father ran for 43 years before retiring in 2024.
Jared grew up in Kanab and graduated from Kanab High School in 1995. After serving a two-year mission for his church in Sydney, Australia, he received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah and graduated at the top of his dental class in 2007 from Case Western School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He has extensive training and experience in IV sedation dentistry, dental implants, root canal therapy, wisdom teeth removal, and other restorative and cosmetic dental treatments.
Dr. Schmutz is a veteran of the US Army. After completing dental school, he and his young family were stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky. As a Captain in the 502 Company of the 1st Medical Brigade, he served one tour in Iraq in 2009 as a US Army dentist. He separated from the military in order to pursue his career in civilian dentistry in Oregon, New Mexico, and, finally, Utah.
Jared is thrilled to be back in the red dirt of Kanab with his lovely wife, Adrianne, and their four beautiful daughters. He enjoys the beautiful outdoors of southern Utah, Cleveland Guardians baseball, and spending time with his wife and daughters.

Hi, I'm Lisa O. I've been working for Kanab Family Dental for 29 years and I've had the pleasure of working with three generations of Schmutz dentists. I love a beautiful smile and enjoy helping patients maintain their smile or helping them through the process of a whole new smile.
I'm married and have three children and seven grandchildren who I love spending time with.
